The conception of Non- Profit Organization or Non- Governmental Organization (NPO / NGO) is not new to the world. There are many NPOs / NGOs working with the aim to uplift the poor, marginalized, unprivileged, underprivileged, impoverished, downtrodden groups. NPOs / NGOs have been participating actively in various political, economical and social matters and working on their own or in conjunction with individual governments or with international organizations.
In India, there are about four thousand NPOs / NGOs in each State and most of them are working in the areas of Education, Women Empowerment, Eradication of poverty, Sustainable Livelihood Development, caring of Street Children & Orphans, etc.,
These NPOs/ NGOs have played an increasingly prominent role in the development sector as innovative and grassroots driven organizations with the desire and capacity to pursue participatory and people centered forms of development and to fill gaps left by the failure of the government in meeting the needs of their poorest citizens
The Team Krishna Sri Paripurna Foundation has observed that there have been very few NPOs / NGOs working in some of the other significant areas of development like Farmers, Soldiers, Sports, Traditional Arts and Crafts, Support for Re-living.
Five categories were identified and chosen to be listed on this portal – Rebuilding Lives, Equipping Farmers, Supporting Soldiers, Enabling Sports and Rejuvenating Arts & Crafts.
Under each of these categories, the NPOs / NGOs already engaged in their specific service field in India were chosen based on their credibility, impact and legal compliances. These NPOs / NGOs will be known as our Beneficiaries hereafter.
